The benefits of an Ørsted PPA

An Ørsted PPA has many benefits for your business, financial as well as environmental.

Reduce your carbon footprint

More and more companies around the world are committing to sourcing their electricity from renewable sources. A PPA is one way to achieve this. Energy use from fossil fuels is responsible for 75 % of global carbon emissions, so by switching your long-term power supply to renewables from Ørsted, you’re sending a clear signal that you support our vision of a world that runs entirely on green energy.

Be compliant and increase your sustainability profile

Sustainability is increasingly something that customers, shareholders, employees, and supply chain partners expect of a business. There are also high reporting and compliance standards from schemes like the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), RE100 and the UN Global Compact, which hundreds of the world’s leading businesses have signed up to.

Corporate PPAs come with a certificate for every MWh purchased. This enables a corporate to claim that all or part of their energy supply is guaranteed to be covered by an equivalent power production from a named renewable energy asset, for example a wind or a solar farm.

Recognition for meeting renewable electricity targets can also enhance an organisation’s reputation and brand leadership and meet their public sustainability goals.

Scale and flexibility

Budget with confidence

Typically, a PPA has a duration of 10-20 years, offering long-term budget certainty that can’t be achieved by purchasing certificates that aren’t attached to a PPA. A corporate PPA protects your business from energy price changes in a volatile marketplace by fixing energy prices throughout the agreement.
